Downtown Raleigh Scavenger Hunt

Who is considered the “father of Raleigh?”  What was the first city in North Carolina?   Take a picture of your team: holding up the world, with a police officer, in front of the giant acorn.

These are just some of the tasks set upon over 20 au pairs living in Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Fayetteville, Southern Pines, and many other cities!  Given 2 hours, the au pairs walked all over downtown Raleigh finding items, taking pictures, and asking strangers questions about North Carolina and the United States.

Getting au pairs out of their comfort zones and having them ask questions to strangers really opens up a dialogue about where they’re from, what they’re doing here, and helps them learn more about the state in which they currently live.  This event is also an annual fundraiser for Cultural Care Kids First foundation, a charity to enrich the lives of children in need all over the world.

See the photos below; the au pairs really made this a fun and adventurous event!
